CVE-2009-1928 describes a stack consumption vulnerability in the LDAP service of Active Directory and related services across various Microsoft Windows operating systems, including Windows 2000, Server 2003, and Server 2008. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can exploit this by sending a malformed LDAP or LDAPS request, leading to a denial of service (system hang). With a CVSS score of 7.8 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, resulting in a complete loss of availability for affected systems.
