CVE-2009-1546 is an integer overflow vulnerability in the Avifil32.dll component of Microsoft Windows, affecting Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, and Server 2008. This flaw allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on Windows 2000 systems or cause a denial of service on other affected Windows versions through a specially crafted AVI file. With a CVSS score of 8.5, it is considered highly severe due to its network-based attack vector and high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
