CVE-2008-5134

26
FAUCET Score

CVE-2008-5134 describes a critical buffer overflow vulnerability in the lbs_process_bss function within the Marvell Libertas Wi-Fi driver (libertas/scan.c) of the Linux kernel, affecting versions prior to 2.6.27.5. This flaw allows remote attackers to achieve complete compromise (confidentiality, integrity, availability) with low attack complexity, simply by sending a specially crafted "invalid beacon/probe response." Despite its maximum CVSS score of 10.0 and high FAUCET Risk Score of 82/100, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
