30
FAUCET Score

CVE-2008-3703 describes a critical vulnerability in the Symantec Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows (SFW) versions 5.0, 5.0 RP1a, and 5.1. This flaw allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by exploiting a NULL NTLMSSP authentication bypass in the Volume Manager Scheduler Service (VxSchedService.exe), enabling the creation of malicious "snapshots schedules" registry entries. With a CVSS score of 10.0, this vulnerability is highly severe, requiring no authentication and having a low attack complexity, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its critical nature, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
