CVE-2007-6591

14
FAUCET Score

CVE-2007-6591 describes a vulnerability in KDE Konqueror versions 3.5.5 and 3.95.00 where the browser incorrectly accepts SSL certificates. If a user accepts a certificate based on the Common Name (CN) field, Konqueror also implicitly accepts all domain names listed in the subjectAltName:dNSName fields, even though these are not visible to the user. This design flaw makes it easier for remote attackers to trick users into accepting invalid certificates for spoofed websites. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 4.3 (Medium severity), indicating a network-based attack with medium complexity and potential for partial confidentiality impact. There is no known active exploitation, publicly available exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage surrounding this CVE.
