36
FAUCET Score

CVE-2007-6189 describes a critical heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the ActiveX controls (OScan8.ocx and Oscan81.ocx) of BitDefender Online Anti-Virus Scanner 8.0. This flaw allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by supplying a specially crafted, long argument to the InitX method, which leads to improper memory allocation due to double Unicode decoding. With a CVSS score of 9.3, this vulnerability is highly severe, requiring medium attack complexity but enabling complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. While not listed in CISA's KEV catalog, exploit code is publicly available via ExploitDB, though there is no evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion.
