23
FAUCET Score

CVE-2007-4000 describes a critical vulnerability in the Kerberos administration daemon (kadmind) within MIT Kerberos 5 versions 1.5 through 1.6.2 and Fedora distributions. This flaw, residing in the kadm5_modify_policy_internal function, allows remote authenticated users with "modify policy" privileges to potentially execute arbitrary code by triggering a write to an uninitialized pointer when a policy does not exist. With a CVSS score of 8.5, this vulnerability is highly severe, enabling complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability with medium attack complexity. Despite its high severity and EPSS score, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
