CVE-2007-1071 describes an integer overflow vulnerability in the gifGetBandProc function within ImageIO in Apple Mac OS X 10.4.8 and Mac OS X Server. This flaw allows remote attackers to trigger a denial of service (segmentation fault) and potentially execute arbitrary code by supplying a specially crafted GIF image during decompression. With a CVSS score of 7.8 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over a network with low attack complexity and no authentication required, leading to a complete loss of availability.
