CVE-2006-3074

25
FAUCET Score

CVE-2006-3074 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in klif.sys, a component of Kaspersky Internet Security and Anti-Virus versions 6.0 and 7.0 for Windows Workstations and Servers. The flaw stems from insufficient validation of parameters passed to numerous hooked system calls, allowing a local attacker to trigger a system reboot by providing invalid input, such as an incorrect ClientId to NtOpenProcess. With a CVSS score of 5.0 (AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P), this vulnerability is considered medium severity, requiring local access but with low attack complexity, leading to a denial of service. While an ExploitDB entry exists (EDB-30192), there is no evidence of active exploitation, Metasploit or Nuclei modules, or significant community discussion or media coverage, suggesting it is not widely targeted.
