CVE-2006-3066 describes a buffer overflow vulnerability in the TCP/IP listener of IBM DB2 Universal Database (UDB) versions prior to 8.1 FixPak 12. This flaw allows unauthenticated remote attackers to trigger a denial of service by sending a specially crafted, long MGRLVLLS message within an EXCSAT message during connection establishment, causing the application to crash. With a CVSS score of 5.0, it is considered a medium-severity vulnerability, requiring no authentication and having low attack complexity, but only impacting availability.
