CVE-2006-1736 describes a social engineering vulnerability affecting Mozilla Firefox 1.x, Mozilla Suite, and SeaMonkey. Remote attackers could trick users into downloading and saving executable files by overlaying an image with a transparent link to the executable, which would then be saved if the user selected "Save image as...". The attack was facilitated by a GUI truncation issue that hid malicious file extensions.
