This flaw allows user-assisted attackers to execute arbitrary code by crafting a malicious .xls file containing a specially designed BIFF record that manipulates a function pointer. With a CVSS score of 9.3, this vulnerability is highly severe, requiring medium attack complexity but leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability if exploited.
