CVE-2006-0805

29
FAUCET Score

CVE-2006-0805 describes a CAPTCHA bypass vulnerability in php-Nuke versions 6.0 through 7.9. The flaw allows remote attackers to circumvent CAPTCHA controls by exploiting predictable challenge/response pairs that are only updated daily and depend on the User Agent. An attacker can fix their User Agent, obtain a valid CAPTCHA solution, and then reuse that solution in the random_num and gfx_check parameters. This vulnerability carries a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), indicating a significant risk. It is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity and no authentication required, potentially leading to partial compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The FAUCET Risk Score is 89/100, highlighting its severity. While not listed on the CISA KEV catalog, exploit code for this vulnerability is publicly available on ExploitDB (EDB-27249). Despite the public exploit, there is no evidence of active exploitation, and community discussion and media coverage are minimal, suggesting it is not widely targeted.
