22
FAUCET Score

CVE-2005-1175 describes a heap-based buffer overflow in the Key Distribution Center (KDC) component of MIT Kerberos 5 versions 1.4.1 and earlier. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to trigger a denial of service (application crash) and potentially execute arbitrary code through specially crafted TCP or UDP requests. With a CVSS score of 7.5, it is considered highly severe due to its network-based attack vector and low attack complexity, enabling potential compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There is no evidence of active exploitation, publicly available exploit code in Metasploit or ExploitDB, nor significant community discussion or media coverage surrounding this older vulnerability.
