CVE-2005-0448 describes a race condition in the rmtree function of File::Path.pm in Perl versions prior to 5.8.4. This vulnerability allows a local attacker to create arbitrary setuid binaries within a directory tree being deleted. The attack requires high access complexity (AV:L/AC:H), and its potential impact is limited to partial integrity (I:P), with no confidentiality or availability impact. There is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
