CVE-2004-0630

CVE-2004-0630 describes a critical arbitrary code execution vulnerability in Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 and 5.0.6 for Unix and Linux, and potentially other versions. Attackers can exploit a flaw in the uudecoding feature by embedding shell metacharacters in a PDF filename, leading to complete compromise of the affected system. With a CVSS score of 10.0, this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with no authentication required, resulting in full confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact. Despite its high severity and EPSS score, there is no public exploit code available, nor is there evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion.
