CVE-2004-0119 describes a critical vulnerability in the Negotiate Security Software Provider (SSP) interface of Windows 2000, XP, and Server 2003. This flaw allows remote attackers to trigger a denial of service (system crash due to a null dereference) or execute arbitrary code by sending a specially crafted SPNEGO NegTokenInit request during authentication. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, requiring no user interaction, and can lead to high availability impact.
