CVE-2002-1373 describes a signed integer vulnerability in the COM_TABLE_DUMP package of MySQL 3.23.x versions prior to 3.23.54. This flaw allows remote attackers to trigger a denial of service (crash or hang) in the mysqld process by supplying large negative integers to a memcpy call. With a CVSS score of 5.0 (AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P), it is a medium severity vulnerability, easily exploitable over the network with no authentication, leading to availability impact.
