CVE-2002-0081

27
FAUCET Score

CVE-2002-0081 describes buffer overflow vulnerabilities in the php_mime_split and php3_mime_split functions within PHP versions 4.1.0, 4.1.1, 4.0.6, and 3.0.x. This flaw allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by sending a specially crafted multipart/form-data HTTP POST request, provided the file_uploads setting is enabled. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, potentially leading to partial compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Despite its high risk score and EPSS percentile, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
