CVE-2001-1379 describes a critical SQL injection vulnerability in PostgreSQL authentication modules mod_auth_pgsql 0.9.5 and mod_auth_pgsql_sys 0.9.4. This flaw allows remote, unauthenticated attackers to bypass authentication and execute arbitrary SQL commands by manipulating the username field. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (HIGH), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, potentially leading to compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
