CVE-2001-1323 describes a buffer overflow vulnerability in MIT Kerberos 5 (krb5) versions 1.2.2 and earlier. This flaw allows remote attackers to trigger a denial of service and potentially execute arbitrary code by sending specially crafted base-64 encoded data that is mishandled by the radix_encode function during file glob processing. Rated with a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, potentially leading to partial confidentiality, integrity, and availability impacts.
