CVE-2001-1101 describes a vulnerability in the Log Viewer function of Check Point FireWall-1 GUI for Solaris versions 3.0b through 4.1 SP2. This flaw allows remote authenticated users to overwrite arbitrary files ending in '.log', or local users to overwrite arbitrary files through a symlink attack, due to insufficient file existence checks during saving. With a CVSS score of 6.4 (Medium), it presents a low attack complexity but can lead to partial integrity and availability impacts.
