CVE-1999-1579

CVE-1999-1579 describes a denial-of-service vulnerability in the Cenroll ActiveX control (xenroll.dll) affecting Terminal Server Editions of Windows NT 4.0 and Windows NT Server 4.0 prior to SP6. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this by creating numerous arbitrary files, leading to resource exhaustion on the target system. With a CVSS score of 5.0 (Medium), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, resulting in partial availability impact.
