CVE-2026-34361 is a critical Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability impacting HAPI FHIR versions prior to 6.9.4. It allows an unauthenticated attacker to exploit the /loadIG endpoint in the FHIR Validator HTTP service, making outbound HTTP requests. This flaw, combined with a URL prefix matching issue, enables the theft of authentication tokens (Bearer, Basic, API keys) configured for legitimate FHIR servers. Rated with a CVSS score of 9.3 (Critical), it has a network attack vector, low complexity, and high confidentiality impact. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation or public exploit code, though it has received some community attention.
