CVE-2026-32698 is a high-severity SQL injection vulnerability (CVSS 7.2) affecting OpenProject versions prior to 16.6.9, 17.0.6, 17.1.3, and 17.2.1. This flaw allows an attacker with administrator privileges to inject arbitrary SQL commands via a custom field's name when used in a Cost Report. This SQL injection, combined with another bug, enables arbitrary file write and subsequent Ruby code execution upon application restart, leading to full system compromise. The attack is network-exploitable with low complexity but requires high privileges. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion.
