CVE-2026-3179 is a path traversal vulnerability affecting ASUSTOR Data Master (ADM) versions 4.1.0 through 4.3.3.ROF1 and 5.0.0 through 5.1.2.RE51. The FTP Backup feature fails to properly sanitize filenames from FTP server directory listings, allowing a malicious server or MITM attacker to craft filenames with traversal sequences. This high-severity vulnerability (CVSS 8.1) could lead to arbitrary file overwrites, potentially resulting in privilege escalation or remote code execution. While there is no known active exploitation or public exploit code, the vulnerability has garnered some community discussion.
