InstantCMS versions prior to 2.18.1 are affected by CVE-2026-28281, a Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability stemming from a lack of CSRF token validation. This flaw allows attackers to trick authenticated users into performing unintended actions. With a CVSS v3.1 score of 7.1 (High), the vulnerability has a network attack vector and low attack complexity, requiring user interaction. Successful exploitation could lead to unauthorized actions such as granting moderator privileges, executing scheduled tasks, or accepting friend requests, resulting in high integrity impact. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, nor are public exploits available in Metasploit, Nuclei, or ExploitDB, and community discussion and media coverage are minimal.
