CVE-2026-27825 is a critical directory traversal vulnerability affecting MCP Atlassian versions prior to 0.17.0, which integrates with Confluence and Jira. An authenticated attacker on an adjacent network can exploit this by manipulating the download_path parameter in the confluence_download_attachment tool to write arbitrary content to any server path with write access. This arbitrary file write can lead to arbitrary code execution and full system compromise, as indicated by its CVSS score of 9.0 (CRITICAL). Despite its severity, there is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion regarding this vulnerability. Organizations using affected versions should upgrade to 0.17.0 or later to mitigate the risk.
