CVE-2026-24044 describes a critical vulnerability in Element Server Suite Community Edition (ESS Community) Helm Charts prior to version 25.12.1. An insecure server key generation method in the matrix-tools container (before 0.5.7) allows network attackers to recreate the Matrix server's key pair. This enables impersonation of the victim server, severely impacting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Matrix rooms where the vulnerable server is a member. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 9.2 (CRITICAL) due to its network attack vector, low attack complexity, and high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
