CVE-2026-22039 is a critical authorization bypass affecting Kyverno versions prior to 1.16.3 and 1.15.3. An authenticated user with permission to create a namespaced Kyverno Policy can exploit this vulnerability to force Kyverno's admission controller to execute arbitrary Kubernetes API requests, breaking namespace isolation. This allows for cross-namespace data access (e.g., ConfigMaps, Secrets) and potentially cluster-scoped or cross-namespace writes (e.g., creating ClusterPolicies). With a CVSS score of 9.9 (CRITICAL), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low privileges and no user interaction, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
