CVE-2026-1461 describes an Improper Handling of Missing Values vulnerability in the Simple Membership plugin for WordPress, affecting all versions up to 4.7.0. The plugin's Stripe webhook handler fails to validate signatures when the signing secret is unset (the default), allowing unauthenticated attackers to forge webhook events. This medium-severity vulnerability (CVSS 6.5) enables manipulation of membership subscriptions, such as reactivating expired accounts or canceling legitimate ones, leading to unauthorized access and service disruption.
