CVE-2025-66262

31
FAUCET Score

CVE-2025-66262 is a critical arbitrary file overwrite vulnerability affecting DB Electronica Telecomunicazioni S.p.A. Mozart FM Transmitters across multiple versions (v30-7000). This flaw stems from a path traversal vulnerability during tar archive extraction, specifically in the restore_mozzi_memories.sh script, which uses the -C / flag without proper path validation. Attackers can exploit this by uploading specially crafted .tgz archives containing malicious filenames to overwrite critical system files, leading to full system compromise. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 9.8 (Critical) due to its network-based attack vector, low complexity, and high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. While there is no known public exploit code or active exploitation, the vulnerability has garnered some community discussion.
