CVE-2025-64101 is a high-severity vulnerability affecting Zitadel, an open-source identity infrastructure. It allows an attacker to manipulate the password reset mechanism by injecting malicious host headers, causing the system to generate a password reset link pointing to an attacker-controlled domain. If a user clicks this link, the attacker can capture the secret reset code and gain unauthorized access to their account. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 8.8 (High) due to its network attack vector, low attack complexity, and high potential for confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact. However, accounts with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) or Passwordless authentication enabled are mitigated. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, publicly available exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE. Patches are available in Zitadel versions 4.6.0, 3.4.3, and 2.71.18.
