CVE-2025-62710

21
FAUCET Score

CVE-2025-62710 describes a vulnerability in Sakai Collaboration and Learning Environment versions prior to 23.5 and 25.0, where the EncryptionUtilityServiceImpl used a cryptographically weak random number generator (java.util.Random) to create the AES256TextEncryptor password. This flaw allows an attacker, by obtaining ciphertexts and approximating the PRNG seed, to potentially reconstruct the serverSecretKey and decrypt sensitive data. With a CVSS score of 5.9 (Medium), this vulnerability has a network attack vector and high confidentiality impact, but requires high attack complexity. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
