CVE-2025-59043 affects OpenBao versions prior to 2.4.1, where a crafted JSON payload can exploit a memory amplification vulnerability. This allows an unauthenticated attacker to bypass the max_request_size protection and cause an out-of-memory denial of service (DoS) by sending a specially designed JSON object. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (High), the vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low attack complexity, leading to high availability impact. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
