CVE-2025-5718 describes a privilege escalation vulnerability in the ACAP Application framework affecting Axis devices. This medium-severity flaw (CVSS 6.8) allows an attacker to gain elevated privileges via a symlink attack, but only if the device permits unsigned ACAP application installations and a user is tricked into installing a malicious application. There is currently no public exploit code available (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), nor is there any evidence of active exploitation or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
