CVE-2025-55581 describes an insecure implementation in the D-Link DCS-825L firmware (version 1.08.01 and possibly prior) where the mydlink-watch-dog.sh script fails to validate the integrity of monitored binaries. This vulnerability allows an attacker with filesystem access to replace the 'dcp' and 'signalc' binaries, leading to persistent arbitrary code execution with root privileges. Rated 7.3 HIGH on the CVSS scale, the attack requires local access but can result in high confidentiality and integrity impact. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
