CVE-2025-48498 is a null pointer dereference vulnerability in the Distributed Transaction component of Bloomberg Comdb2 8.1. An unauthenticated attacker can trigger a denial of service by sending a specially crafted protocol buffer message over TCP to a database instance. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (HIGH), this vulnerability is easily exploitable remotely without user interaction, leading to a complete loss of availability.
