CVE-2025-47779 is a medium-severity vulnerability affecting Asterisk and certified-asterisk versions prior to 18.26.2, 20.14.1, 21.9.1, 22.4.1, 18.9-cert14, and 20.7-cert5, respectively. An authenticated attacker can exploit a flaw in SIP MESSAGE authentication to spoof user identities and send unauthorized spam messages, leading to social engineering and phishing risks. With a CVSS score of 6.5, this vulnerability has a low attack complexity and high integrity impact, allowing attackers to send fake chat messages appearing from trusted entities.
