CVE-2025-35058 is a medium-severity vulnerability affecting Newforma Info Exchange (NIX) and Newforma Project Center. It allows an unauthenticated, remote attacker to coerce the NIX service account into making an SMB connection to an attacker-controlled system, enabling the capture of the NTLMv2 hash. The attack requires high complexity due to the need for an attacker-controlled SMB server and specific network conditions, but if successful, it can lead to a complete compromise of confidentiality for the NIX service account credentials. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage surrounding this vulnerability.
