CVE-2025-31947 describes a vulnerability in Mattermost versions 10.6.1 and earlier, 10.5.2 and earlier, 10.4.4 and earlier, and 9.11.11 and earlier, where repeated failed login attempts by LDAP users do not trigger an account lockout. This flaw allows an unauthenticated attacker to repeatedly attempt logins, potentially leading to the lockout of legitimate external LDAP accounts. With a CVSS score of 5.3 (Medium), the vulnerability has a low attack complexity and can be exploited remotely, resulting in a denial of service for affected LDAP users. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
