CVE-2025-27535 describes an insufficient access control vulnerability in the firmware of some Intel Ethernet Connection E825-C devices (NVM versions prior to 3.84). A privileged local attacker can exploit an exposed ioctl in a bare-metal OS environment to cause a denial of service. While the attack complexity is high and requires privileged access, it needs no user interaction or special internal knowledge. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 5.3 (Medium) with a high impact on availability, but no impact on confidentiality or integrity. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
