CVE-2025-22248 is a critical authentication bypass vulnerability affecting the bitnami/pgpool Docker image and the bitnami/postgres-ha Kubernetes Helm chart. Under default configurations, an unauthenticated 'repmgr' user can gain access to the PostgreSQL database within the cluster, as the PGPOOL_SR_CHECK_USER is improperly configured. With a CVSS score of 7.5 (HIGH), this vulnerability allows an unauthenticated attacker to achieve high confidentiality impact if Pgpool is exposed externally. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
