CVE-2025-20140 describes a denial of service vulnerability in the Wireless Network Control daemon (wncd) of Cisco IOS XE Software for Wireless LAN Controllers. This flaw, stemming from improper memory management, allows an unauthenticated, adjacent wireless attacker to crash the device by sending a series of IPv6 network requests from an associated client. Rated 7.4 HIGH on CVSS, the vulnerability has a low attack complexity and requires no user interaction, but does necessitate the attacker to be on the same adjacent wireless network. A successful exploit leads to a complete denial of service. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage surrounding this CVE.
