It stems from improper validation of JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) when using the AWS ALB authentication mode. This flaw could allow an unauthenticated attacker to gain unauthorized access, leading to high confidentiality impact and low integrity impact, as indicated by its CVSS score of 8.2. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability. The issue was resolved in Hermes version 0.5.0.
