CVE-2024-9836 describes a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the RSS Feed Widget WordPress plugin prior to version 3.0.0. This flaw allows authenticated users with contributor roles or higher to inject malicious scripts due to insufficient validation and escaping of shortcode attributes. Rated Medium severity (CVSS 5.9), an attacker could exploit this by tricking a user into interacting with a crafted page, potentially leading to information disclosure, unauthorized actions, or defacement. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this vulnerability.
