CVE-2024-7420 describes a Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability affecting all versions up to and including 1.3.6 of the Insert PHP Code Snippet plugin for WordPress. This flaw stems from inadequate nonce validation, allowing unauthenticated attackers to activate, deactivate, or delete code snippets if they can trick a site administrator into clicking a malicious link. Rated 6.5 Medium on the CVSS scale, the vulnerability requires user interaction (UI:R) but can lead to high integrity impact (I:H) on affected WordPress sites. There is currently no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion surrounding this CVE.
