CVE-2024-6397 is an authentication bypass vulnerability affecting all versions up to and including 0.1.0.44 of the InstaWP Connect – 1-click WP Staging & Migration plugin for WordPress. This flaw, stemming from insufficient API key verification, allows unauthenticated attackers to log in as any existing user, including administrators, given knowledge of the username. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (Critical), this vulnerability has a low attack complexity and can lead to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
