CVE-2024-52009 is a critical vulnerability affecting Atlantis, a self-hosted Go application for managing Terraform pull requests. The flaw, categorized as CWE-532 (Inclusion of Sensitive Information in Log Files), causes Atlantis to log GitHub credentials (tokens) when they are rotated, allowing an attacker with log access to impersonate the application and gain administrative privileges on linked GitHub organizations. With a CVSS score of 9.8 (CRITICAL), this vulnerability is easily exploitable over the network with low complexity, leading to complete compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability. While there is no known active exploitation, public exploit code, or significant community discussion, immediate upgrade to Atlantis v0.30.0 is strongly advised as there are no workarounds.
