CVE-2024-48942 describes a medium-severity vulnerability in the Syracom Secure Login (2FA) plugin for Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket versions through 3.1.4.5. This flaw allows remote attackers to easily brute-force the 2FA PIN due to a wide window of valid tokens (the last 30 and next 30) accessible via the /plugins/servlet/twofactor/public/pinvalidation endpoint. The attack has a network vector and high complexity, but requires no user interaction or privileges, potentially leading to high confidentiality impact. Currently, there is no evidence of active exploitation, public exploit code (Metasploit, Nuclei, ExploitDB), or significant community discussion or media coverage.
